Mike Cuales is a Creative Director with a passion for art, design, and technology. In his current role at NC State University, he manages a New Media Development Team, responsible for producing innovative multimedia content for online education that empowers faculty and drives student success.
Mike recently launched LEVR Studios LLC, a startup focused on 360 video production, virtual reality, and design consulting. LEVR Studios is actively working with commercial and non-profit partners to explore applications for VR in advertising, STEM mentoring, outreach, and community engagement. For their flagship project, Mike partnered with local Director Arthur Earnest to create Raleigh Spaces, a virtual reality film series that allows for immersive storytelling, technical exploration, and digital preservation of the creative people, places, and spaces found across Raleigh NC and surrounding areas. Earnest and Cuales hope to expand the series to Durham, Chapel Hill, and beyond.
Mike began his creative journey on Long Island, NY and obtained a Masters of Industrial Design from NC State University after completing a degree in Business Management and Marketing. Mike has taught at NC State’s College of Design, Duke T.I.P. and has presented at SXSWedu, UNC Cause, Liberact, and HOW Design Ignite.
